🟢History of ISSB

The Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) is a prestigious selection body for candidates aspiring to join the Pakistan Armed Forces as commissioned officers. Established to assess leadership qualities, intelligence, and physical endurance, ISSB plays a crucial role in selecting future military leaders.

🟢ISSB Test Schedule

🟢 Arrival (09:00am To 12:00pm)

  1. Bed/block/room is alloted to him.
  2. Documents are checked by the staff,brought by the student.
  3. Chest number is alloted to the candidate(a number printed on a apron, like cloth) to be tied round his chest.
  4. The candidate is photographed, with the chest number.
  5. The President ISSB addresses the candidates.
  6. Forms related to personal particulars are filled.

🟢First Day: Psychologist Dimension

  1. 🔹Sentence Completion Test (SCT)
    • 📌This test contains four sets of incomplete senteces.
    • 📌Two sets of ENGLISH and two sets of URDU sentences.
    • 📌Each set has 26 incomplete sentences[(26*2)+(26*2)=104].
    • 📌Each set will be needed to get complete within 6 minutes.

  2. 🔹Word Association Test (WAT)
    • 📌A total of 100 words will be displayed on projector.
    • 📌Each word will remain for 10 second only.
    • 📌A serial number is given to each word on hard copies.
    • 📌Candidates have to associate the word in the corresponding serial number.
    • 📌Click on the above WAT heading to be taken to real time practise.
  3. 🔹Picture Story Writing (TAT)
    • 📌3 picture will be displayed on the screen one after another.
    • 📌Candidates have to observe the picture for 30 second, followed by 3 min & 30 sec to write a story.
    • 📌After 4 min another picture will be shown on the screen.
    • 📌Story must have to be written in ENGLISH only.
    • 📌For practise, click on the above TAT heading.
  4. 🔹Pointer Story Writing (PSW)
    • 📌A total of 3 incomplete sentences will be displayed on the screen.
    • 📌Candidates have to write a story on each sentece.
    • 📌Candidates will be allowed to see the sentence for 30 second only.
    • 📌Further 3min & 30sec will be given to write a story.
    • 📌Click on the above PSW heading to start pratical test.
  5. 🔹Situation Reaction Test (SRT)
    • 📌A total of 3 Situation will be displayed on the screen.
    • 📌Candidates have to write a possible solution on each situation.
    • 📌Candidates will be allowed to see the situation for 30 second only.
    • 📌Further 3min & 30sec will be given to write a Suggested response.
    • 📌Click on the above SRT heading to start pratical test.
  6. 🔹Self-Description Test (STD)
    • 📌Time for test: 10-15 minutes
    • 📌What your parents think about you.
    • 📌What your teachers think about you.
    • 📌What your friends think about you.
    • 📌What you think about yourself.
    • 📌What kind of person you want to become.

🟢Second Day: GTOs Dimension

  1. 🔹Public Speaking or Lecturate
    • 📌Different topic will be given to each member of a group
    • 📌Each candidate will have to speak for 02 min
    • 📌Candidate will have to face toward group members
  2. 🔹Millitary or Group Planning
  3. 🔹Progressive Group Tasks (PGT)
  4. 🔹Half Group Tasks (HGT)
  5. 🔹Command Task (CT)
  6. 🔹Final Group Task (FGT)
  7. 🔹Individual Obstacles

🟢Third Day: Deputy President Dimension

  1. 🔹Group Discussion
  2. 🔹Panel Interview

🟢Fourth Day: Re-Interviews/ Re-GTOs Tasks

  1. 🔹Re-Interviews
    • 📌Candidates who have some doubts regarding their selection are called for a re-interview.
    • 📌Those recommended by the psychologist and GTO, but not by Deputy President, will be called for a re-interview.
  2. 🔹Re-GTOs Tasks
    • 📌Those recommended by the Psychologist and Deputy President, but not by GTO, will be called back by GTO.
    • 📌GTO may ask such candidates to perform any task related to the GTO dimenion.
  3. 🔹Closing Address
    • 📌Once all re-interview and re-GTO tasks are completed, the President ISSB will have a closing address to all candidates.
  4. 🔹Departure
    • 📌After the closing address, candidates will be free to leave ISSB premises by approximately 12:00 PM.
